Friday April 29
The clocks had been moved forward one hour during the night, and we woke early to rolling seas, thunder and lightning ..... not a good start ... so we stayed in bed and watched the Royal Wedding on our cabin TV. The skies brightened as the morning went on, and by lunch time we were on the deck, joining in the Trivia competition. Our team of two actually answered 9 of 12 questions correctly, giving us first place and two sets of coasters with Holland America designs on them. The afternoon was warmish but breezy. I tried to keep moving, since my muscles tightened up after any amount of sitting, but..... Enjoyed the hot tub, lounged on the deck with a book, and then prepared for the first formal night - thanks Barb for the long black skirt! I wore it with a black cami, my periwinkle shrug, and my $14. shoes from Beale's outlet - thanks Bonnie for telling me what Beale's was! Potato/leek soup, surf and turf, and a chocolate dessert were my choices from the menu, with a champagne toast to celebrate the launching of the 100th ship in the Carnival family.
